The aim of the Nanomaterials Research Unit is to develop new methods for the economical production of nanostructured metals, semiconductors, ceramics, polymers and their composites. Our recent research with potential impact in the industrial are carbon nanotubes, silicon carbide nanowires, metal oxide nanowires and nanodots. A feature of the research unit is that it encompasses fundamental of Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering to pioneer the new challenges of synthesis and characterization and to scale-up for industrial use. | |
